Welcome to Alberton Remedial School. It is our aim to do all that we can to assist Primary School learners overcome their barriers to learning and develop to their full potential. It is our firm belief that given the right environment and educational approach children will not only learn but excel.

Alberton Remedial is an independent remedial school that caters for children of average intelligence who are unable to reach their full potential in mainstream classrooms. We provide specialised instruction for children with specific learning difficulties including Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Visual Processing Disorder, Auditory Processing Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, as well as other general scholastic difficulties.

Our School programme includes:

• Classes are limited to 10 children per class
• Specialized instruction
• Individual Remedial Therapy
• Computer based programmes that combine optometric and educational techniques to improve visual skills and enhance reading abilities. This includes perceptual organisation, focusing, eye-teaming, tracking, visual discrimination, word recognition and comprehension.
• Speech and Language Therapy

• Brain Gym
• Art Therapy
• Parent support groups and presentations from other professionals on a termly basis.
• Arts and crafts
• Drama and culture
• Physical education
